  • "Big beds are uncomfortable."

Daughter and family left Thursday and we left Friday morning because of the beds. Maybe some memory foam toppers might help.

  • "Very spacious accommodation, especially for 4 adults and a dog."

Instructions for parking and key collection were clear. Overall cleanliness was good, just needed to pay attention to a couple of areas such as skirting boards and extractor hood. As per previous comments from guests a blind or curtain in the lounge would be good and the plates in the kitchen could do with replacing. These points would not deter me from recommending this holiday accommodation to family and friends. There is plenty of activities in the area.

A lovely property to stay in, would certainly stay there again if in area, short walk to town centre, outside area was fine but weather was against us, having 2 toilets was bonus and kitchen was well equiped, only thing the shower heater had a poor flow and difficult to set on high position, but other than that excellent house to stay in with parking at rear

Thank you for providing feedback. We have had our shower checked by Mira and have been told it is in full working order. I agree that it could benefit from upgrading to improve the flow and it is one of the next things we intend to replace when circumstances allow. Thanks again for taking the time to offer feedback. • "We found this property to be extremely well kitted out, pots and pans were of good quality."

There was ample crockery and glassware. Ideally situated in the the town with parking at the door. The sitting out area got the sun for most of the day with a table @ bench provided. There were comfortable folding chairs for outside use also. We would return to this property again and would not hesitate to recommend.

Thank you for your kind feedback. It's much appreciated. Regards Kirsten Property Owner

In it's first year and still being tweaked to perfection by enthusiastic owners, no major problems but please leave comprehensive instructions for the TV as not all systems are the same. We were very comfortable, enjoyed our stay, would recommend and will return.

  • "Lovely holiday home."

Well equipped, clean and beautifully decorated and was spacious enough for 6 people . It was a real home from home . The property is literally a stroll to the centre of a traditional and really pretty Market town. There is a great choice of shops, cafes, pubs, restaurants and takeaways. There are lots of different riverside walks and one of them is a 5 min walk from the property. There is a beautiful castle with gardens and play area which serves good food and is literally at the end of the street . (Children go free) There is also a fantastic large children's play park and skate park, Within a 5 minute walk with a big Lidl opposite too. Kelso is a really nice and unbelievably friendly place and I would definately recommend it

About the location

KELSO

Jedburgh 14 miles; Wooler 16 miles.

Kelso is a lovely tranquil Borders town at the meeting point of the Tweed and Teviot rivers, with a cobbled town square and streets, and an array of stunning Georgian buildings, and a wealth of gorgeous countryside around it. Take time out to visit Floors Castle, a very prominent Stately Home with restaurants and gardens, designed by William Adam. Also close by are Mellerstain House, Kelso Abbey and the Kelso races. Mellerstain House is a stunning example of Georgian architecture at its finest. Designed by the architect William Adam and his son Robert in 1725, it is the residence of the 13th Earl of Haddington. The house is located within 80 acres of luscious rolling parkland and is in walking distance of Smailholm Tower, the ancestral home of Sir Walter Scott. Great fishing can be enjoyed on the Teviot, Tweed and Jed rivers and there are many excellent golf courses to choose from. Watch the spectacular and historic Common Ridings, held at Kelso, Hawick, Selkirk, Langholm, Lauder and others, with long histories. The Borders also offer some superb walking and cycling, be it on the coast, over the breathtaking hillsides or amongst the enchanting Border forests.
