  • "Very much disappointed by this cottage: location is okay but we would have been pleased to know that a railway is just next to it."

But the main disappointment is linked to cleanliness: the kitchen was very greasy and smelly. We spent 2 hours cleaning all dishes and cutlery, and the kitchen hood was absolutely filthy! We sent a message at the beginning of our stay to complain about it and the only answer we got was that the owner would be aware of it for further improvement… not really a professional answer in my opinion! Apart from that, the location is very convenient to discover some very nice spots in Scotland !

All the facilities were great and the garden was the icing on the cake. Our dog wanted to be outside the whole time and did not want to leave when it was time to go home. Will definitely return if possible.

  • "Very well equipped cottage in a lovely location and we have had a great time."

Done several all day long trips to explore Scotland, and it was a comfy place to return to each evening and rest aching legs! One of the best cottages we have stayed in. Ours friends come from Poland, so we decided to take them to Scotland to show them the beautiful places. They loved every minute of the holiday. Thank you to the owner of the cottage, for our relaxing holiday. Will recommend the cottage to friends and family.

Fully equipped kitchen. Very quiet surroundings and lots of wildlife. Easy drive along A9 to different places to visit - Aviemire, Cairngorms, Pitlochry, Highland Wildlife park, plenty of lochs and further to Inverness.

  • "Lovely holiday home thank you for the great welcome basket good base ."

Nice clean bedrooms comfy mattresses fab garden and log burner ,cafetiere so happy to see because we forgot ours. Brought a slow cooker but maybe good addition for future guests returning back to the cottage... Unfortunately we did have a few issues with smell from the bathrooms throughout our entire stay and large flies in down stairs bathroom a couple of times even though we kept windows closed and doors . Filter could be heard every part of the house and spoilt the last few days of the holiday as it constantly sounded day and night . All lower kitchen cupboards dirty and some large utensils unwashed put with clean ones . We Hoovered downstairs pet hair up and large amount in the hall way and the cupboard in living room smelt bad too .(smelt like vomit ) We have always stayed in many holiday homes and never left negative feedback before today . Also left a note on dinning table to update you regarding noise to prevent your next guests having same problem with filter noise . It states in the file if it is noisy it's because its working . We found it to difficult to enjoy our stay as the noise increased towards our last remaining days it did not turn off . We had a significant family reason for hiring the 2 houses and this was not a good experience from our house at number 1 . Number 2 didn't have the toilet smells and continuous noise or the flies . I would not like other guests to pay for a stay experiencing the same issues. Surrounding the cottage is beautiful and lovely walks . Remote is lovely but if you want more you need to drive out which was part of our holiday plan so we had good range of outings .

Thanks for your feedback. We are sorry you didn't enjoy your stay . Thank you for feeding back the issue with the pump , it shouldn't make noise constantly but did require maintenance, which we carried out on your departure. Thank you for leaving a note on the dining table for the cleaning team so we were able to address this before the next guests arrived. We apologise for the flies and smell in the bathroom, this wasn't an issue we were previously aware of but have now had our maintenance team look into this to ensure there is no impact on future guests. • "A beautiful cottage in a truly splendid location."

The property was lovely and clean and homely. The walks around the location are absolutely breathtaking and awe inspiring. It was lovely to sit in the garden taking in the splendid views. Although the property is listed as sleeps 6 we found it a tight squeeze with 5 adults and 1 burly teenage. When we opened the table to eat we found it tight unless we moved one sofa and opened a door. I think it would be better discover as sleeps a family of 4. I like a cold bedroom but was unable to open the bedroom window on the ground floor and the temperature knob on the cooker was very hard to turn.

  • "A very good cottage located in a scenic and beautiful location."

The cottage was just off the A9 and the sat nav worked fine. The rooms were comfortable. Would have appreciated bit more collection of kitchen utensils. The owners could have provided a kitchen towel and more than 1 bin liner. Alternatively, if it would have been mentioned we could have brought them with us. We had to go to supermarket in the evening to buy the items.

We spent a week in this cottage and had a fabulous holiday. The scenery around the cottage is spectacular with many walks. The cottage is very comfortable with plenty of space and a good sized garden with a swing seat that takes in the lovely views. The owner left a welcome pack of local goodies and 2 folders with lots of information on local walks and places to visit which were very helpful.

2nd time visiting this area (last time stayed in 2 Station Cottages which is next door), booked 2 weeks this time as it is such a beautiful place and the mountains surrounding it are breathtaking.its directly off the A9 and you get all of the benefits of getting to places quickly but don't hear the road noise when you are in the cottage. The dogs love the garden as it wraps around the property and they have plenty of space to run around. • "We absolutely loved our stay."

The location was stunning - the views from the lounge window where beautiful, it was such a good way to start the day. The no wifi really wasn’t a problem, it was great to actually switch off, and neither was the road noise. At home we live behind a main road and it was pretty peaceful at night. Also, we loved the trains! The cottage itself is very cozy, and well kitted out. The beds are extremely comfy, and there is no clutter. Another great point, is the sky is listed as a Level 2 sky, which means it’s almost complete darkness. The amount of stars you can see on a clear night is honestly insane. Walks from the cottage door are endless too. Fantastic for the dogs, who absolutely loved their stay - good walk every day in beautiful scenery then snoozing in front of the fire. We stayed a week and are already planning our return trip and have a load of walks on the to do list! My only suggestion going forward would be access to more firewood. A small fee and option when booking for that to be provided would be awesome!
