  • "We enjoyed our stay at The Farm which was warm, spacious and comfortable."

The large kitchen/dining area was perfect as a space for our large group to cook, dine and spend time together. The hot tub was most welcome, especially after days spent walking Offa’s Dyke.

  • "This property was amazing, much more spacious than the photographs do justice to."

An amazingly well renovated building, finished to a very high quality with everything you need available. The hosts had thought of everything - clear instructions for all appliances, a great welcome hamper, and ice in the freezer to allow us to start celebrating immediately. The place is truly spotless and well cared for, the hosts were in touch and very friendly/responsive. Location-wise this is property is in the middle of nowhere, exactly what we wanted! We had a party of 12 and never once felt cramped or on top of each other ... despite the fact we hardly left the very large kitchen diner area, so great or socialising and family time. I couldn't recommend this place enough. Amazing for the family event we were celebrating - 5 generations of us and it cater to us brilliantly.

Loads of space to have your own space if you wanted it. House spotlessly clean, extra towels provided for hot tub and the best equipped kitchen we have had in a large property, it actually catered for the number of people staying which is often not the case. The views were amazing, from every window, the sky at night was literally out of this world on a clear night. We all had a great time and looking forward to staying at The Farm again in the future.

The house was great for 11 of us with lots of space for both adults and children, especially as the weather wasn’t great. The hot tub was such a bonus, especially for the children, who went in most days. It was good having 2 lounges as we kept one for adults to sit in during the evening and another for the kids and most of their toys. The house was cosy, even though big, and always warm. The owner was very helpful and easily contactable when we needed extra equipment. The only reason why I’ve given 4 stars for comfort is that a couple of the beds were uncomfortable, the en-suite double and en-suite king upstairs. Also, the en-suite in the king room upstairs was quite cramped compared to the spacious en-suite in the double. The room was large though. But we did have a good holiday thank you.

The house is finished to new build standards but retains much of its original feel and features. Large family dining area will genuinely seat you all for a home cooked meal fro the well equipped kitchen. Twin lounges might not suit everyone but worked well for us. Superb, quiet walking and cycling (both road and mtb) can be found from the doorstep. Lots of other walks/trails also within a short distance as well. After a good days walking the hot tub awaits! Anita is fastidious about this being clean and correctly balanced as she is about the cleanliness of the house. A good base for exploring both sides of the border.

A lot better than it’s displayed on the website. Only downside I’d say is that the living rooms are a bit small but we spent all our time in the kitchen as it was huge, so it wasn’t a issue. We even moved one of the couches into the kitchen for extra seating. Host was great. Only a phone call away when we needed something. Hot tub was great and always warm too for 3 days. Overall it was a great stay and rate the property 9.5/10.

We are glad to hear that you had a great stay at our property, we would strongly recommend not moving furniture around the property to avoid damage to the property or anyone hurting them selves while they are away. We hope to see you again in the future. Property Owner

The property

Enjoying an elevated position overlooking the glorious Welsh countryside is this superbly appointed farmhouse, resting a short distance away from the ancient town of Presteigne.

From the outset, this large holiday accommodation boasts a seamless blend of character and contemporary, making a great base for groups of families and friends to call home as they explore this part of the country, which rests on the border of England and Wales.

Soak up your surroundings before entering into the large kitchen/diner, with the Range cooker takes centre stage before all of the other quality appliances within this farmhouse-style kitchen and the large dining table, where everyone can gather to raise a glass to a superb holiday before tucking into a home-cooked dish.

Afterwards, your evening can be spent within the sitting room, look forward to cosying up on the plush seating arrangement with the electric fire offering a gentle warmth during the colder months.

The second sitting room within the cottage will delight younger guests of the group, where they can escape to watch whatever they wish to on the TV.

Grandparents or those who simply do not wish to climb the staircase, will love the ground-floor king-size bedroom with its elegant furnishings, good wardrobe storage and access to a sleek shower room with walk-in shower, basin and WC.

The elegance of the ground floor is continued up onto the first floor, where four additional bedrooms await.

Choose between a family bedroom with super-king-size bedroom (zip/link beds, can be made into twins on request) and single bed, a family bedroom with double bed and single bed, a double with en-suite walk-in shower, basin and WC, and a king-size with en-suite walk-in shower, basin and WC, designed to ensure a flexible sleeping arrangement for all party make ups.

Continuing to impress is the garden area, where the large lawns are great for letting the younger guests play and the table and chairs upon the patio offer an alternative spot for some dining and enjoying a beverage during a balmy afternoon.

After an action-packed day or a long walk upon the countryside, look forward to savouring a moment of relaxation within the bubbling hot tub, with the stunning backdrop to admire.

Better acquaint yourself with your surroundings by taking a trip into Presteigne town, where you will find a superb array of places to eat and drink, as well as shops for picking up any last-minute essentials.

Meander the winding streets to admire the black and white timbered buildings before reaching the award-winning Judges’ Lodgings, a Victorian museum complete with stunning judges’ apartments, servants’ quarters, courtroom and cells.

From here, keen walkers can look forward to exploring the famous Offa’s Dyke Path or walk alongside the River Lugg, where fishing opportunities are available.

Other attractions nearby include the enchanting garden of Bryan's Ground and the stunning landscape of the Shropshire Hills is within easy reach for even more outdoor adventures.

Alternatively, use this base to explore the delights of Leominster, Hay-on-Wye and Ludlow.

The Farm promises to be a wonderful retreat that the whole family will love.
