We celebrated our mother 70th birthday at the property. Was nice to have your own en-suite and a downstairs toilet. The large longue area was prefect for a group of 10 people which included children.we stayed within the area, as it had lovely walks and a nice local pub to go to after. If we can we are hoping to re book next year.

  • "The house generally was excellent and I'd recommend it to anyone based on the bedrooms, bathrooms and the wider living area."

Huge space, well maintained, extremely comfortable. The garden was properly enclosed for the dogs. Couldn't fault the core offering. The gripes are trivial and fixable - more big pans, please, a bit more cleaning of the hot tub before guests arrive, and maybe relook at the angles of the security cameras to take them off guest areas and onto access points.

  • "Lovely big house and garden."

We were a family of adults and kids celebrating a 70th bday party. Owner kindly gave us permission to have other family guests (mainly kids and elderly) over for an afternoon to celebrate a bday bbq and hire a bouncy castle. Extremely concerned that the owner had multiple cameras on the outside of the property. Three of these were pointing at the outdoor area and hot tub. This was not disclosed in the booking. We had children getting in and out of the hot tub and feel this is very inappropriate to have cctv on them. The owner visited daily to clean the hot tub and made several comments how dirty it was (don’t know what he expected when this was placed on the grass). He made lots of negative comments regarding previous guests. In reality we think he was checking up on us which felt very invasive.

Hot tub huge! Owner Mark was very helpful and on hand close by. Rooms were furnished to a high standard and very comfortable. The area surrounding the house is just lovely. We didn't leave the property for the 2 days we were there because the weather was brilliant and we were enjoying the hot tub and views too much! If the house had a larger fridge freezer or a second one in the utility, that would be a bonus as we did struggle to get all the excess amounts of food and drink that we bought into the single fridge freezer. We have already reccomended the house to others and would definitely return.

Only negative point is there wasn’t enough comfortable seating for the 10 of us females to sit down together. Perhaps replacing the old bean bags, one of which kept losing its filling, with 2 small armchairs. However the hot tub was a big hit and owner very accommodating when we had a problem with it. We would go back again. Tudhoe is a pretty little village

Everything was furnished to a really high standard and the open plan downstairs was perfect for socialising as a group. Not to mention the views from the back of the house, it was quick to forget there were even other houses around. There is plenty of parking with use of overflow out towards the back of the house. The owner was really nice and was there if we ever needed anything. Again, I can't recommend this enough, far enough away from town to feel secluded yet close enough that any shops you need are only a couple of minutes drive away.

.. AMAZING!!! We stayed here over Xmas, there was 10 of us and 2 dogs. The place was beautiful, lovely and clean. Very big. The hot tub was just lush and was cleaned daily. There was Xmas decorations and a tree which was lovely. Everything you need is on hand. I can't recommend this place enough and I will certainly be returning.. The only criticism is there isn't any cleaning products so we bought what we needed, but an oven cleaner or bench spray would of been helpful so take a spray as we liked to clean up as we go. I mean its a minor thing really. Can't fault the place. All the rooms are spacious and the views are beautiful. I wish it was my home. Thank you so much for everything.

great little village too with nice pubs and 30mins walk into Spennymoor or even bus to Durham for the day. Feels very remote though and private. House was very nice loved the under floor heating. Only marked down a little because there were only stick kindling no logs for the fire so didn't last long and no way of cleaning the ash left previously. Hot tub great but would have been nice to have some robes/flip flops. I brought mine as know its a good idea with hot tub. Hot tub was clean and Owner Mark came to check on chemical levels etc. He was very friendly. A guest book would be good for any recommendations etc, and maybe some board games? Check out could do with being an hour later... everything had to be cleaned and put back, which is fair enough, however I didn't put dish washer on correctly over night so pots etc left in working dishwasher.

The views from Stackyard House are superb. The garden is extremely spacious with a fantastic hot tub which seats six. No reports of anything suboptimal apart from mirror light in ground floor bathroom not working, which made things a little gloomy there.
