  • "The house is amazing and luxurious very tastefully put together, and very well equipped."

Lower Norton Farmhouse offers so much space for families. The views are stunning and such a short distance from Dartmouth town centre and supermarkets. We plan another visit in the summer so we can enjoy the outside more, although it was lovely to watch the wildlife from the conservatory.

This is our second visit and hope it won’t be the last. Extremely warm and comfortable. The kitchen is a dream and has every piece of equipment, and more, that you could wish for. The owners are very friendly and helpful. Yes the lane is difficult but well worth it! The new WI-FI is heaps better much to the delight of our gadget happy family Thank you so much for allowing us to use your beautiful home

  • "Lower Norton Farmhouse provided 8 of us and dogs a wonderful Christmas get together with rwo decorated trees for Father Christmas to leave our prezzies under."

. Plenty of space and options to be all together or spread out if you needed some peace. The kitchen was very well equipped making cooking the Christmas Dinner trouble free. Logs were purchased for the log burners but the under floor heating kept us all very toasties while the rain fell and the wind howled outside. Although on holiday and time not an issue it would have been nice to have the wall clocks working and the slabs outside were particularly slippery in the wet which was an issue for the older members of our family. Finally the drive down was a little tricky on the bridleway. Would we want to spend another week at Lower Norton........oh yes

Yes the track down to it is bumpy in places but nothing that a car can't handle with ease and the reward is the house.

  • "Amazing property."

Beautiful location. Large, spacious rooms. We were a family of nine adults & had the best time here. The home was well equipped & very well presented. The owners sorted out our two little issues very quickly. We really enjoyed our stay. So much so that one day after returning home we book up again for the following year. As previously mentioned by other guests the WiFi isn’t the best. Plus the road/track down to the property is a little challenging. Having said that in every other respect the property exceeded our expectations. Highly recommended. A++++

It’s usable for very short periods at random times. Impossible to use for work meetings or even things like looking at the following days weather or getting on to the BBC website. No help from owners or Sykes while we were there and Sykes being deliberately unhelpful.

  • "The house is beautiful in a stunning location."

We booked for a family reunion so we weren’t looking to be out all day and the house was perfect in every sense bar two, hence the 4* rating. The first and most difficult was the internet. We all have jobs that we were unable to just drop and the internet was practically nonexistent. It turned what should have been an incredibly relaxing stay into rather a stressful one. It appeared to be shared with the other houses too so during the day it was virtually impossible to get a signal. The first two days we had no internet at all until one of our party attempted to fix it, which gave us at least some connectivity but so limited if anyone else was using it, including neighbours, it wouldn’t work. We had to constantly leave the house to work, or at 3am! There was no enclosed area for the dogs which was manageable but we had to keep them on leads if we were outside and keep the door shut at all times if we weren’t. There is an area that is supposed to be enclosed but has massive gaps in the fence meaning any size of dog could get through them. The furnishings were all well maintained and it really is a beautiful house. If it wasn’t for the internet it would be a definite 5* but the constant frustration, for the kids too who couldn’t sit and watch their tablets at anytime. There are televisions in virtually every room but very few of them actually worked. We loved the incredibly well equipped kitchen and dining area as we cooked every evening.

  • "We had a fantastic week at Lower Norton Farmhouse."

The welcome treats were a lovely touch. Sue was very helpful. The spaciousness of the house was perfect for three generations with young children. If there was one negative , it was the garden. Although, the decking area was lovely, the lawned area was slopping up. (No problem) , but by-laterally steeply down to a stony path, which made it unsafe for toddlers to play freely. Also, children could get up to the car park and straight out onto the very steep access road, which had vehicles coming and going up and down. A driver would not see a child running straight out of the car park. I think these aspects would be easily improved to ensure the garden is really safe for families with young ( under 8 )

  • "A lovely location, beautiful views, and superbly equipped house."

We really enjoyed our stay, but there are two issues - low speed, intermittent broadband, and beware the approach lane - around a mile of below-reasonable -standard very irregular surface, steep in parts, massive pot-holes, and tricky to navigate in a BMW 5 Estate, particularly after rain. Picked up two scratches on the alloy wheels. Bring your range rover or equivalent, or be prepared for a hair-raising drive in and out.

  • "A fabulous stay in this wonderful property."

We could not have asked for better weather and to sit on the decking and just take in the peace and views was wonderful. The house was perfect for 3 generations, with ample space and facilities to suit all. The welcome pack was the best we have ever received, and the boys were over the moon with the Easter eggs. The house was well situated for the many trips to Blackpool Sands and local attractions, although as pre-warned, the bridle track to the house is extremely bumpy and no good for low suspension cars. We held our breath every time we ventured out hoping we didn't meet anyone coming in the opposite direction, but it is well worth the trip to get to the house. Overall a fabulous house and location and would highly recommend.

3 generations plus dog had a great holiday. Only one issue, which readers are permitted to laugh at. My two sons-in-law took the dog for a walk on our first night, whilst we went shopping. Two hours later long after our return when it was pitch-black we had a call, "we're lost". We could see them via phone tracking and they could see us. but the signal was intermittent. Eventually they came back very muddy, having crossed fields, fallen in feeding troughs etc.. Maps please particularly of the immediate area, and torches essential!

Well equipped for a large family. Excellent property near Dartmouth and coast for sightseeing in the area. Our family of 6 adults, 3 children and a baby had a fantastic holiday. Suggestions: Blackout curtains and curtains you can fully close, especially in the bedrooms, for young children. Washing machines need a full clean. Fly insectecutor or fly trap recommended for kitchen. Bridle way requires a better surface for cars. Storage cupboard or shelf in master shower room and shower squeegee needs replacing.

So much space and everything beautifully appointed. We spent a lot of time in the (Footballer's Wives size) kitchen - we kept forgetting where we'd put all our food as there were so many cupboards! The conservatory/outside space is very special with a beautiful view to enjoy. The track down to the house isn't great, especially if you have a low profile car. That aside, we had a magical stay and would heartily recommend it to future guests.

It is situated in a beautiful location with great views and plenty of wildlife; I recommend the walk down the lane to Dittisham along the estuary. The Farmhouse is down a gravel lane which is very manageable as long as you go steady. It is worth noting that taxis won't come down the lane so you need to walk to the top to be collected. ( we had my 82 yr old mother in law with us and it was not walk-able for her at least ) The owner Sue couldn't have been more helpful and generous; the welcome basket full of Devon goodies and the birthday cake and champagne added a special touch to kick off our birthday celebrations.
