  • "A lovely house with beautiful views of the mountains and sea."

Plenty of space for a large group (we were three families) to spend time together or have our own space. The only thing we were missing was some coat hooks in the hallway. We had a great time.

Each bedroom had its own shower room which for us made life easier . Would recommend the 1957 if eating out.

  • "Llwyn Derw is a beautiful and very spacious cottage with all the amenities and facilities needed for a great holiday."

The gardens are stunning, and really peaceful considering the location. We have stayed in quite a few cottages over the years but this is by far the best garden we've ever had the pleasure to enjoy. And the parking is a plus. I think blackout blinds/curtains need to be available in all rooms... and the 10am check out... ouch! Apart from that it was a very pleasant and enjoyable stay.

  • "We have just completed our stay at this cottage and had a fabulous time throughout."

We were a large family group with young children through to grandparents and this cottage suited us perfectly. The cottage is immaculate, spacious and has all the equipment you need. Each bedroom upstairs has an en-suite bathroom and the downstairs bedroom has access to a toilet and shower making it ideal for the olds! It is in an ideal location to explore the coast of Wales and is only a short drive to either Barmouth or Harlech. The owner, Marian, was superb and ensured our stay here was a happy one. We have stayed in quite a few cottages over the years but this was our favourite one so far.

  • "The downstairs bedroom could do with thicker window covering, its really light in there at night."

Also the downstairs bathroom is not that easily accessible. If anybody booked who needs help with showering it is impossible. But generally very good and would think about going back when everywhere is open.

  • "Beautiful house, beautiful garden, beautiful area."

Great time had by ages 4 upwards and plenty of space. We were lucky with the weather but it wouldn’t have mattered in this property if inclement. Could do with a tumble dryer for wet weather if you needed to do a wash.

  • "This is a beautiful house well kept, and very clean, however for our family group consisting of mostly elderly, it wasn't suitable with many steps outside,to the garden and the downstairs bathroom too small to use, we ourselves should have checked this beforehand."

    The owner was very helpful.

  • "We had a good stay at Llwyn Derw in last week of May 2021."

The owner was very approachable/responsive and checked in with us regularly in case we needed something. You feel very safe and protected at the property as its within monitoring distance of the owner's farm - I believe she can also see the house in case there are any un-toward activities. Also the property is in a residential area with bungalows next to it meaning is calm and quiet usually. The gates between ground floor lounge to patio don't open making it very secure at night. The property is right on the main road with ample parking space connecting you to the back entrance which is used more frequently. The garden is small yet cozy with a pond that is fenced - its very well maintained and has clear sections of grass and pathway of pebbles providing you the best of the worlds - please make sure you don't push pebbles into the grass as it messes up with the lawn mover.

Well loved and equipped with everything you need. Marian the owner went over and above what was expected and took the time to put up birthday balloons and banners for our arrival and even left a card and gift for my sisters 60th. Can’t thank her enough. We wouldn’t hesitate to book again. Even though the weather was good old British style there was still plenty to go see and do. My grandson who is 2 was delighted at seeing cows in the field just at the back fence.

Not knowing what to expect we had taken dishwasher tablets, washing-up liquid and similar items. All unnecessary as they were provided. We were surprised but delighted that Mrs Williams even provided some Easter Eggs so that our small family members could enjoy an Easter egg hunt in the splendid garden. We were a party of 6 adults plus 2 children and a 7 month old and there was ample space for all of us. The X box was a bonus and the children's DVDs were enjoyed before their bedtimes. Overall excellent and we would have no hesitation in a re-visit.

  • "Everything except the weather!"

! It may help visitors to find the premises if the name of the premises was put on display in the front garden or somewhere else in a prominent place to be seen from the road. It took us two or three trips up and down the road before we found the premises, perhaps we should have gone to Specsavers before we left home.

Thank you for your feedback; sorry the weather wasn't better for your visit!! There is a signpost for the property on the house itself, we can only apologise if you had missed this. Thanks again for taking the time to let us know your thoughts. Kind regards, Property Owner

  • "We were a family of 6 adults, (4 parents + 2 grand parents) and 4 children aged 2, 3, 7 and 8, so for us the house was great, plenty of room for everyone."

Every bedroom having its own on suite was good although some of them were a bit small and the gardens were a delight. My wife and I relaxed at 'home' one morning while the gang were out waterfall hunting and we really appreciated being surrounded by lovely shrubs and plants, the little ones loved playing hide and seek in the grounds during the evening. The garden furniture was excellent and all 10 of us were able to enjoy a seated BBQ. The location was just right, a short car journey into town or an even shorter journey to the nearest beach...could walk this but with all the paraphernalia involved with 4 children a car boot was definitely needed ... easy parking there. Feeding the troops was helped by the provision of a large 6 ring cooking range and good sized tables, although we tended to use the table in the sun lounge with a small extension table at the end for the children the table in the lounge/dining area was more than adequate and we usually breakfasted at the kitchen table. The large parking area was fine for our 3 cars and the bigger children found the smooth tarmacadam drive just great for shooting down on their scooters, performing stunts as they went. The only problem was the proximity to the busy road and it was prudent to have an adult on watch while they were playing there in case a visitor swung into the drive from the road. All in all very good accommodation and excellent facilities although if the weather was wet a tumble dryer would be a useful addition ... note from son in law ... a Jacuzzi under the BBQ area would be great !!!

  • "Lywyn Derw is a fabulous house for a family holiday."

It has everything you could ask for both inside and out. It is located away from the crowds of holidaymakers in the small village of Talybont but within a 10 minute drive of Barmouth. Harlech and Shell Island are about 15-20 minutes away too. You have lovely sea views and the beach is easily accessible, whilst there is plenty of walking for those who prefer the mountains. There are amenities including a local shop, pub and takeaways all within walking distance. Marian is a super lady who ensures you have everything you need at Llwyn Derw and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this superb house for a great family get together.
