  • "Wow wow wow what an amazing property."

Truly stunning and all our needs taken care of. Incredible home done to an exceptionally high specification. Every detail was covered. Fit and healthy then walking to town is no issue what so ever, if not so then the local taxi firm is again incredibly helpful, friendly and so so reasonably priced. Amazing place and will so so be back. Thank you for a dream family holiday we loved every moment of it. Xxx

  • "Great property facilities and position."

Could perhaps do with shelf in the en-suite/bathroom and a large doormat inside the backdoor, to stop dragging sand into the house, BUT minimal complaints really, just being picky! Had a great holiday there with the family and would definitley go back.

  • "The property was beautiful and the setting stunning."

My main problem was the check in time was 6pm (to allow for the hot tub to be filled with clean water. The leaving time was 10am to allow for this as well). However a man came in unannounced on on leaving day at 8.45 am to empty the hot tub which considering the amount you are paying for the place is a bit cheeky and rude. in theory we should have had the place until 10am

Thank you for your feedback, glad you thought the property was stunning. Apologies the check in time is 5pm. This was notified to Sykes earlier in the year, but it appears that on the arrival instructions it may still have said 6pm. This has now been checked on all of our properties. Apologies. The check in time at 5pm has nothing to do with the hot tub. It is for the house to be cleaned, checked and any repairs made. There are clear hot tub instructions, that say on your day of departure, the hot tub is out of action at 8am This is to allow the tub to be drained, cleaned, refilled and switched back on to heat the new water. The process of heating the water can take 8 to 10 hours to reach 38 degrees. We take the position that as guests are due to leave at 10am, then it is better for us to try to give the new arrivals, the chance to use the hot tub on the day of their arrivals, with the temperature at 38 degrees. We would rather do this, than take the hot tub out of action the day before guests depart, or leave the process so late that the incoming guests don't have the hot tub at all on the day of their arrival. Just to clarify, the man wasn't unannounced it was clearly detailed within the hot tub instructions. And yes you do have the property until 10am, but just without the hot tub. Sorry you thought we were being cheeky and rude. Liz Property Owner

  • "We spent our Easter holiday at Boscarne."

The house is clean and tidy, new and well- maintained. They supplied everything you needed: plenty of towels, toiletries, washing stuffs,… The owner lady was very helpful. Only one minus thing, there’s no microwave so it’s abit difficult for us to warm up the foods. We felt very comfortable there and had a great time. Highly recommended!

Just to say there is a microwave. One of the ovens is a microwave oven. It looks externally the same, but as you open the door it has a different look to it, and the control knobs are different for microwave use. The instructions are in the cutlery draw. Property Owner

  • "We had a wonderful holiday at Boscarne."

When we arrived the house was immaculately clean, and lovely and warm. The beautiful views of the sea from the living room and 1st floor bedrooms were stunning. We particularly enjoyed the log burner, the hot tub, and watching movies on the projector in the evenings. Being able to walk into the centre of St Ives in 10 minutes meant the property was brilliantly located. I cannot fault the property, it’s perfect for a coastal holiday in Cornwall.

  • "Great location, inside of the property as described clean, tidy, and well presented, external does need some upkeep though along with the garden furniture as this lets the properties appearance down."

  • "The house itself is lovely, and it’s position overlooking the sea is very nice."

However, for the money we paid, I didn’t expect the outdoor furniture to be so shabby. The long wooden table and chairs have certainly seen better days, and the garish plastic chairs lacked cushions, (we couldn’t find any). Indoors I did I’d not expect to find chipped glasses and crockery , I also thought that a few pictures on the walls would have given it a warmer feeling , but realise that is a personal choice.

Liz, our host, was on hand to meet and greet when we arrived and was available for help & advise during our stay. There was plenty of room for 5 couples to relax and not feel on top of each other. St Ives is a great location and there was enough to keep us all occupied...surfing, paddleboarding, kayaking, great eateries & the Minack Theatre was well worth the visit...but do take layers if you go! Overall a great week...well worth the 400 mile drive...would love to return.
