  • "This was our second visit and we absolutely love the house."

It is perfect for our needs and well equipped. The lane remains the only issue…. Access is so tricky on the unadopted lane. One of our party damaged her car this yr in a pothole so I’m not sure I will be able to persuade the group there again :(

  • "We just loved Windy Mundy Farm!"

Stunning, unique building with amazing views, comfy beds and great facilities. Spotlessly clean, the heating generous which kept all eight of us ladies toasty warm. Also a mention of the large bath towels provided as often towels are barely big enough! A great venue which we would be happy to revisit in future.

  • "This was my 80th birthday celebration with all our family."

Windy Mundy was great for the occasion and provided for a range of interests. The house was clean and welcoming and Karen, the house manager was very helpful in advance. The house as lovely and warm and, in view of earlier comments about it smoking, we did not use (or need to use) the log burner. One slight problem is that there are no single rooms for solo visitors. One “suggestion”, given noise nuisance to people sleeping in the Annexe bedroom, would be to move the “games room” to one end of the large lounge and use the vacated space for an additional bedroom. This could release the spiral stairs bedroom that is without bathroom facilities (and quite a distance to share facilities). Overall a super house for large gatherings which we would be very happy to use again.

  • "We rented this for my 70th birthday party."

We filled the rooms and also had guests during the day. 20 adults and 3 children for a Sunday roast made easy by the great kitchen and large dining table. The log burner worked great, with the tall curtains drawn it was very cozy. Agree at weekend in a delightful building.

  • "Our party of 16 adults have just spent a Friday-Monday weekend at fabulous Windy Mundy Farm."

The building has the WOW factor especially the lounge/dining room. The accommodation was spotlessly clean, kitchen well equipped and overall we were warm and comfortable. Karen responded and sorted out a heating issue quickly on Saturday afternoon. The one thing to note is there are steps into the property and from the kitchen to the lounge, which a couple of our party found difficult to manage. The website details could be amended to make this clearer and also the bedroom above the spiral staircase does not have easy access to a bathroom.

  • "Amazing place."

We had such a lovely time here. It is spectacular yet homely and cosy at the same time. The views are breath taking. Everyone who came wants me to book again for next year!! A couple of minor things- the upstairs room over the lounge wasn't terribly useable. It got very smoky up there when we lit the log burner and then cold when we had to open the window. Also it would have been useful to have instructions on how to work the TV and DVD player. Other than that it was genuinely perfect and we didn't want to leave! Would highly recommend for a family group/group of friends.

Karen the house manager was helpful and efficient. We felt the place was very tired round the edges -some bathrooms weren’t very clean, the showers barely worked due to low water pressure, the sofa cushions need replacing as do some of the mattresses, the duvet on one of the beds was torn and dirty, some cutlery and crockery wasn’t very clean. It’s a shame as the building is stunning in a great area.We would return if improvements were made.

  • "Windy Mundy Farm is absolutely stunning."

We were a large group meeting for a reunion and it was perfect for our needs.in many ways the photos dont do it justice, the main open plan area with its enormous large ceiling has a real wow factor. Karen the estates manager was in touch a week before with the arrangements and answered all our questions. The Farm is down a track that is quite remote but we were able to arrange a mini bus with a firm in Shrewsburry to pick is up and drop us off for £30 each way, which wasnt bad between 8. The wood fire hot sauna deserves a special mention...lovwly of a cold evening!

  • "Enjoyed the property for a week in September with four generations of family and two dogs."

Lovely quiet location( majority of time except when farm machinery working close by!) with excellent views over open countryside. The property is accessed by a long farm track whose condition is clearly weather and work dependant. On arrival the weather was dry and the track quite acceptable with little sign of the reported large potholes. However, wet weather and heavy farm machinery using the track resulted in quick deterioration. Facilities within the property quite adequate for large parties, except in the main block we were unable to get hot water( at best tepid) and there was very low shower pressure. Settee furnishings are “tired” and could do with replacement. Enjoyed the open wood burner on a couple of cool evenings. Courtyard nice and secure for dogs and small children. Overall more positives than negatives and we enjoyed our stay.

  • "This property is truly wonderful, with picturesque views in a quiet setting."

The photographs don't do it justice at all! The facilities are good, with all the rooms being very spacious and in the living spcaes there is plenty of seating if you have a large number of people staying. It's in the middle of nowhere so you can be as loud as you like and you won't be annoying any neighbours which is brilliant. Some of the reviews have stated the track road is a bit rough, but actually it was fine, even for a tiny Aygo and KA! There were a few niggly things which would make the stay a 10/10 if fixed: - A couple of the twin beds at the back of the property are extremely uncomfortable to sleep on. - The WiFi router drops off quite a lot, so you cannot rely on this for any activities you might need it for. - Uneven and low distribution of toilet roll. - A lot of spiders/cobwebs in the Annex (most of which could've been reached and gotten ridden of). These were the only real sticking points, and I really do want to emphasise how much we had a great time. The property really was wonderful and we would definitely stay again!

  • "We have just returned from an amazing weekend."

The property is fantastic for large parties, there was so much space that we never felt on top of each other. The kitchen was so well equipped with loads of storage. The main room is so impressive, and it is such a sociable area. The view is nothing short of breathtaking, we were lucky with the weather which meant we could sit outside & enjoy the scenery. The only criticism was the lack of outdoor seating for so many people, the benches sat 10 people comfortably. The other people sat on the decked area. The bedrooms were all beautiful & decorated in keeping with the building. The king size bedroom that is located next to the sauna is in an annex, this wasn’t specified in the description of the property, however this didn’t cause a problem for us. As stated in previous reviews the track leading up to the property has pot holes, as long as you drive slow and don’t go in a sports car this shouldn’t be a problem. The manager of the property contacted me via email the week before with lots of information which was really good. And there was some lovely touches for us when we arrived biscuits, milk, washing up liquid & dishwasher tablets. If you are looking for a tranquil location with amazing views you will not be disappointed.

Thank you so much for your feedback, we are happy to hear that you would recommend us. We appreciate all feedback, so any changes or improvements that can be made we will definitely look into. Thank you and we look forward to seeing you again. Property Owner

  • "Super property."

We stayed as a family group of 3 generations and had a wonderful time. House is very comfortable with a well stocked kitchen and living area. The games room was a hit with the kids (although the table needs some repair work). Not negatives but would help improve the property , very bumpy drive which could do with a bit of hole filling. It would be good to have a second outside table and bench set as we couldn’t all eat together outside. Water pressure on the upstairs showers is a bit low. However we had such a fabulous time, I’m sure we’ll be back.

Thank you so much for your lovely feedback. We will look into all those issues raised, we do have a property manager who is on hand whenever needed to fix or look into anything during your stay. We hope to see you booking back with us at Windy Mundy Farm. Property Owner

Would definitely stay there again. Only negatives are that there is no separate downstairs wc, many others but all en- suites and the lane to the property is full of very large potholes, just ok with a low riding car if you only travel it once to and from the property, but multiple trips are problematic. Apart from that wonderful house and setting

Plenty of dining and sitting space, and good mix of doubles and twins in bedrooms. Good to note its not really somewhere to work from, the WiFi is patchy. Could do with some updates to furniture and utensils in kitchen (no scissors for example) but they are minor points, didn't detract from the overall very positive stay. Stunning property in a stunning location. Would stay here again and one friend already looking to book for a family birthday.

The directions were easy to follow and access to the property was as described and straightforward. On arrival it was warm, clean and welcoming with all bedding and towels provided. Kitchen is really well equipped with plenty of everything, and even two kettles, two toasters and two fridges which proved very useful with a large party. The property was renovated about twenty years ago and it is still beautiful but I would say that some of the mattresses are due for replacement in the near future. The only other niggle was that the water pressure in some of the showers was poor so it was hard to have a good shower. It worth mentioning that one of the double rooms is in a separate building with the sauna and games room. This was not an issue for us as we had teenagers who were happy to sleep away from their parents, but if you have small children who would need to be near parents do bear this in mind. Karen the manager was very responsive and helpful both before and during our break when we had a query. Overall we had a brilliant week and would not hesitate to recommend Windy Mundy Farm.

  • "We loved our stay at Windy Mundy Farm; it was exactly what we wanted, letting us take advantage of the countryside but also being convenient to get to with taxis."

The place is beautiful and thoughtfully laid out and I would highly recommend people to stay there. The living room is far enough away from all (apart from one) of the bedrooms so it means that people can stay up late socialising and others can go to bed early. The location is beautiful and you can wander round to Pitchford Hall and take in the architecture and grounds there. There's also just a beautiful view of the countryside from the main area in the accommodation and an outdoor table where you can eat al fresco. I'm just disappointed we were there on such hot days so we couldn't make use of the sauna or the lovely fireplace in the living room. Our only issue was that some of the bedroom windows don't open and that was tough considering we were there on the hottest days ever in the UK! We also were a little disappointed there was no salt and pepper or other kitchen basics like baking paper and foil. Those are very mild negatives though as they are just things we hadn't thought about and otherwise the kitchen had everything we needed, even down to multiple caffetieres and an immersion blender.

The annex is looking a little tired and the “games room” has one old billiards table with rips in the top and nothing else, so it’s a bit of a stretch to sell it as such. Apart from that the place was great for our family get together of 15 people.

So peaceful! Plenty of space for so many guests! I would come back in a heartbeat. Only 2 points were that the blind in one of the upstairs bedroom was broken so had to be left closed and the two showers in the main house never got hot but more warm after a few minutes of running but plenty of baths and other facilities which more than made up for this tiny ‘inconvenience’.
