Zara Phillips, the granddaughter of the Queen, is to get married to Mike Tindall at the historic Canongate Kirk on Edinburgh’s Royal Mile on 30 July 2011. The kirk, which dates from 1688, is the parish church for the Palace of Holyroodhouse, and the Queen and members of her family regularly attend services there. Visit Scotland have declared that a royal wedding in Scotland would be “great news” for the city and the whole country, because of the Royal Family’s pulling power for visitors.
However Scotland continues to have pulling power for visitors for all types of reasons, and if you are looking for a large holiday house in Scotland for your group, why not stay at the Victorian Fishing Lodge which can be found in the shadow of Ben Nevis. This delightful traditional lodge is ideal for groups of 14 adults, who want a self-catering holiday house in an area known for a wide range of activities. Back in 1935, this very lodge entertained “Edward and Mrs Simpson”, a year before the abdication crisis. So if you are not invited to any royal wedding this year, you can still draw on the history of this house. Why not find out more today at Scotts Castle Holidays?
