Sleeps 16+4 Does not accept pets Does not allow smoking
Looking for a great castle on the west coast of Scotland with views overlooking the sea, which can take up to 20 people and within one hour of Glasgow airport? Look no further!

This is a magnificent Victorian Baronial castle situated on a high promontory with stunning views overlooking Loch Long and the Firth of Clyde. Set within four acres of private grounds, the castle is ideal for large gatherings and special occasions.

Beautifully decorated and maintained with a mixture of period and modern furniture, the castle offers delightful accommodation. Entering at ground level, there is the large L-shaped drawing room with open fire, which is ideal for hosting larger gatherings as it is 800 square foot in size. The sitting room is a cosy traditional wood panelled room with open fire, whilst there is also a secondary sitting room, the TV room, which is ideal for children. Then there is kitchen, with the dining room next door, which can seat up to 22 adults. The accommodation is on the first and second floors, with four of the eight bedrooms available, with four poster beds. The grounds consist of a gravel parking area with a lawn, whilst the front then drops sharply to a paddock area below with mixed woodland. (Additional accommodation for a further seven people can be made available in the self contained castle apartment, which incorporates 3 further floors below ground level. This is not let to other guests and is available on request as extra).

WHAT TO DO IN THE AREA
Water sports and sailing take place at Gareloch, where boats can be hired and classes are available throughout the summer. The single biggest expanse of inland water, Loch Lomond is just a short distance away and ferries and pleasure cruises operate from the lochside. Nearby salmon and sea trout fishing on the river Leven, whilst the championship golf course at Loch Lomond is a challenge for any keen golfer. At Cove Bay is Linn Botanic Gardens, which due to the mild climate, has many exotic species thrive here. For the more relaxed visitor, the endless wilderness of countryside and shores of Loch Long offer scenic walks and cycle routes. To summarise – there are hills and water, and it is reasonably close to Glasgow.
