This stunning Victorian baronial castle, with an additional self contained apartment sleeping up to 6 adults and 1 child, is situated moments from the shores of the Firth of Clyde overlooking Loch Long, in the Argyllshire region of South West Scotland. Set within its own private grounds, this property is ideal for large gatherings and special occasions.

Beautifully decorated and maintained with a mixure of period & well crafted modern furniture, the castle and apartment offer accommodation for a large group to a luxurious standard. The dining room capable of seating all guests comfortably is the perfect space for entertaining on a grand scale.  The exceptionally large drawing and sitting rooms offer a comfortable retreat for evening entertainment.

The accommodation, on the lower ground, first and second floors, offer an indulgent place to retire, with six of the eleven bedrooms enjoying four poster beds.  The self contained apartment on the lower ground floor has an external private entrance and has been furbished in keeping with the rest of the castle.  The two bathrooms in the apartment have been fitted with jacuzzi baths, perfect for winding down after a day's outing.

WHAT TO DO IN THE AREA

The single biggest expanse of inland water, Loch Lomond is just a short distance away and ferries and pleasure cruises operate from the lochside communities of Balloch, Balmaha, Tarbet and Luss, which are perfect for exploring the area. Nearby salmon and sea trout fishing on the River Leven, provides opportunities for all abilities, from the inexperienced to the expert fisherman, whilst the championship golf course at Loch Lomond is a challenge for any keen golfer, with Aberfoyle and Callander golf courses being just a short drive away. The harbour of Balmaha is well suited to watersports, but for the more relaxed visitor the endless wilderness of countryside and shores of Loch Long offer a plenitude of scenic walks and cycle routes.
