Glentress Forest hosts many activities and snow sports can be booked at the dry slopes at Hillend. For golfers there are golf courses at Peebles and Biggar. This area is rich and varied in its history and culture, including the New Lanark Heritage Site and Abbottsford, the home of Sir Walter Scott.
