Breathe in that air – you are now in the Highlands! With good access off the A9, this is very much a traditional shooting lodge situated close to the moors and glens.

Situated close to open moors, this traditional Edwardian shooting lodge provides a country retreat in the ideal location for exploring the Highlands of Scotland. In a delightful setting surrounded by Scots pine with red squirrels, this beautifully renovated lodge is popular with outdoor enthusiasts, from anglers to ramblers.

Within, the accommodation is laid out on three floors, with a fine central staircase at its core. On the ground floor the well equipped kitchen provides ample space to prepare evening feasts, whilst the dining room is capable of seating up to 16 people. The elegant sitting room with a TV with SKY channels, with wood burning stove, alongside the games room with pool table, are well suited to evening entertainment and relaxation. The bedrooms, bathrooms and shower rooms are all on the two floors above. Easily accessible off the main A9, being less than a mile away, there is adequate parking for at least 10 cars, along with a children's play area and BBQ. This comfortable house is full of character offering value for money. It is ideal for a family group, a group of friends, walkers, golfers or those keen to be based in the Highlands.

WHAT TO DO IN THE AREA
This is “Monarch of the Glen” country, famous for its fine scenery and shinty. For those wishing to watch shinty, then games can be seen in the village at the Eilan. For golfers there is the excellent golf course in Newtonmore, and at Kingussie or Boat of Garten. The funicular railway is a superb way to enjoy the Cairngorms and in winter, there is fine skiing available. For activities, there are many outdoor centres or activity companies, from clay-pigeon shooting to rafting. The Laggan Wolftrax centre is perfect for mountain biking. The river Spey is nearby and permits are available locally for salmon and trout fishing. Dalwhinnie Distillery, is a must for all whisky enthusiasts. Aviemore has further excellent outdoor activity centres for water and hill based sports for all the family. For shopping, there is the internationally renowned House of Bruar.

For those flying into Scotland, the closest airport to this property is Inverness 55 miles away and hiring a car or 4WD couldn’t be more convenient if you are choosing to travel by air. There are a variety of well known car rental companies within walking distance of the arrivals terminal at Inverness.

If you are driving into Scotland from the south, the major arterial motorway into Scotland, the M74, although busy is generally free flowing.

Trains these days can also be an extremely accessible and pleasurable means of transport into Scotland for individuals and groups alike. All the major railway stations have car hire companies located in situ, enabling the transition from carriage to car to be as stress free as possible. The sleeper train can be caught from London to Inverness, but takes approximately twelve hours and car hire can be easily arranged for your arrival, requiring approximately an hours’ drive for the remainder of your journey. The closest train station to the property is Newtonmore only four miles away.
