This is a modern purpose built eco-friendly country house with a southerly aspect, situated in dramatic Highland scenery, one and half miles up a private road. Built in 2003, it is set in its own enclosed policy, within 300 acres of open moorland.
Inside at ground level there is a large open-plan living space with wood burning stove which houses a well equipped modern kitchen, with dining space for up to16 people, with windows on three sides ensuring wonderful views throughout. A secondary sitting room, the library has a TV and open fire, is a lovely smaller room to withdraw to. The indoor heated swimming pool is to the rear of the building and consists of a 20 metre long pool. Additionally, there is a double bedroom with en-suite bathroom and a twin room with access to a shower room at ground level. On the floor above is the large drawing room, again with windows on three sides ensuring good light, as well as the four further bedrooms, which are all have en-suite bathrooms. The grounds consist of rugged land within an enclosed policy keeping the sheep out, with two further smaller holiday cottages that may be let with the house or separately by other people. Whether you want a relaxing break, enjoy breathtaking scenic walks or go fishing, this property is perfect for exploring the unspoilt wilderness of the Highlands.
WHAT TO DO IN THE AREA
This region and has become a huge hit for mountain bikers, climbers, canoeists and walkers. In the summer the Glencoe Mountain Resort offers mountain biking, archery, orienteering, hill-walking, climbing, chairlift rides, photography, trail building, guided walks and home cooked food in the log cabin cafe. In winter, skiing, snowboarding, sledging and avalanche rescue training are available. 19 runs across 7 lifts, catering for skiers and boarders of all levels, including the longest and steepest runs in Scotland. For those wishing to fish, loch and sea fishing is available. Oban has many shops and restaurants, as well as the Oban Distillery, and for golfers there is an excellent 18-hole Glencruitten golf course.

Use of car hire is essential, to discover the true beauty of the surrounding areas.
For those flying into Scotland, the closest airport to this property is Glasgow 84 miles away and hiring a car or 4WD couldn’t be more convenient if you are choosing to travel by air. There are a variety of well known car rental companies within walking distance of the arrivals terminal at Glasgow.
If you are driving into Scotland from the south, the major arterial motorway into Scotland, the M74, although busy is generally free flowing.
Trains these days can also be an extremely accessible and pleasurable means of transport into Scotland for individuals and groups alike. All the major railway stations have car hire companies located in situ, enabling the transition from carriage to car to be as stress free as possible. The sleeper train can be caught from London to Glasgow, which takes approximately seven and a half hours and car hire can be easily arranged for your arrival, with a further two hour drive to get to your destination, although trains can be caught to Oban, the closest train station, only 20 miles from the property.
