This is a large south facing 17th century mansion house, set in two acres of well maintained gardens, with stunning views over Holy Loch. The area around the house is full of spectacular scenery and this is an ideal base to discover more of the beautiful west coast of Scotland.
Situated just off the shore road on the outskirts of Kilmun, the house is traditionally decorated and set-up as a holiday house. Within the house itself, is an elegant drawing room with an open fire, with comfortable seating for all your guests. The well equipped modern country style kitchen, complete with Aga, is ideal for preparing cosy kitchen suppers or grander meals which can be enjoyed in the traditional wood panelled dining room. Additionally there are activities available in the house including a games hall with table tennis table, a games room with pool table, a TV room, as well as a sauna. The bedrooms are situated on the first and second floors, and consist of five double rooms, a bunk room for children and two twin rooms with additional beds. Please note that the wing to the house is under separate ownership, which means that the drive is shared and there is an area of the garden that is private. According to the feedback this does not detract from the enjoyment of the stay at this wonderful house. Set within mature grounds, with garden furniture and a delightful lawn to the front.
WHAT TO DO IN THE AREA
Glendaruel is in the heart of the Cowal Peninsula in Argyll and it is a place to unwind and relax, with an opportunity to explore this “undiscovered peninsula” and the surrounding islands. Sea Fishing is available on Loch Long. Sailing and other watersports are available locally. The nearest golf course is at Blairmore Strone a few miles away, which is a delightful 9-hole parkland course. Less than two hours from Glasgow, it is the perfect place to relax and enjoy the beautiful landscape and the wildlife.
