There are few places in the world where our footprints have not scarred the landscape, but this is one of them.  If you ache for quiet splendour in peaceful surrounds come no further.

In a spectacular setting on a 34,000 acres estate, this Victorian shooting lodge is the perfect location to explore the untouched wilderness of Perthshire, accessible by an 11 mile private road, which is not open to the public. With breathtaking scenery overlooking Loch Ericht it is ideal for birdwatchers and ramblers alike, with frequent reports of Golden Eagles sighted overhead.

This traditional shooting lodge is richly decorated with period furniture and paintings, and offers luxurious accommodation within this isolated setting, suitable for family gatherings and fishing parties alike. The comfortable sitting room with open fire and games room provide the perfect spaces for evening entertainment, following a grand dinner which can be held in the traditionally decorated dining room, complete with wood burning stove. The dining table is ideal for 8 adults, but can seat up to 12 adults if required. The bedrooms are on the two floors above and there is full electric heating throughout. This is ideal for families with children who enjoy the outdoors and want their own space.

For those wishing to bring a boat, there is access to the loch via a boat ramp close-by. Fishing for wild brown trout from the bank of the loch is included within the rental. The lodge is surrounded by a haha and fencing to keep the red deer off the lawn, whilst there is a self-contained lodge to the rear where a gamekeeper resides on a permanent basis. The lodge is not available to let between the months of November – March each year.

Due to the remoteness of the property we advise any groups booking in the months of October and April that they should have at least one 4WD vehicle in case of snow. At all other times, use of car hire is essential, due to the remote location of the property

For those flying into Scotland, the closest airports to the property are Inverness approximately 65 miles away and Dundee approximately 90 miles away and hiring a car or 4WD couldn’t be more convenient if you are choosing to travel by air. There are a variety of well known car rental companies within walking distance of the arrivals terminal at Inverness and similar services can be arranged for arrivals at Dundee.

If you are driving into Scotland from the south, the major arterial motorway into Scotland, the M74, although busy is generally free flowing.

Trains these days can also be an extremely accessible and pleasurable means of transport into Scotland for individuals and groups alike. All the major railway stations have car hire companies located in situ, enabling the transition from carriage to car to be as stress free as possible. The closest train station to the property is Rannoch, 19 miles away.
