055 Castle Tower Apartment, Aberdeenshire
Sleeps 12+1 Does not accept pets Does not allow smoking
This is one of Scotland’s great castles, dating back to the 13th century. Follow in the footsteps of  Robert the Bruce, one of many historical and royal figures who have visited.

One of Scotland’s great Baronial fortress palaces, this dates back to the 13th century, and stands proud as a former Royal stronghold. The castle has five towers, each built and named after one of the five families who owned it in succession, with one tower being available for holiday let. Set amidst open parkland, loch and beautiful mature gardens, the bartizan turrets reminisce of fairytale story books.

Being only a short drive from Aberdeen, the castle apartment provides the perfect escape for families and outdoor enthusiasts alike to relax and unwind. Spanning over five floors and accessed by a steep turnpike staircase, it is brimming with antiques and period furniture in keeping with the history of the castle. The magnificent dining room with feature ceiling is ideal for hosting grand feasts, whilst the equally resplendent drawing room, offers the perfect space for evening entertainment and relaxation. The accommodation spans across five floors, providing comfortable and cosy retreats with traditional bathrooms including a Victorian roll top bath.

As a National Trust for Scotland property, the castle and grounds are open to the public, as well as being available for hosting events in the main section of the castle and grounds at certain times of the year. The letting apartment has private access, and not open to the public. Bookings can be for weekly rentals, weekends Friday – Monday or for mid-week options Monday – Friday. Visitors should note that the apartment is not suitable for children under 12 years or people with walking difficulties, due to the steep stairways.
