WHAT TO DO IN THE AREA
Perthshire is a haven for golfers and ornithologists alike. Sitting on the Fault that fused the Highlands and the Lowlands together, it boasts a tremendous mixture of terrain providing a supreme number of golf courses to suit all abilities, whilst being the perfect location for watching spectacular wildlife. Keen golfers are attracted to the regions many golf courses including nearby Crieff and the proud host of the 40th Ryder Cup, Gleneagles and further afield St Andrews the host of the 2010 Open Championship approximately an hours drive away, both well suited to experienced golfers. Ben Chonzie, one of the Scottish Munro’s presents a challenge to keen hill walkers, at just under 3054 feet and for fabulous fishing the nearby River Earn offers opportunities to suit all abilities, from the inexperienced to the expert fisherman. The nearby Eradour Distillery or the Famous Grouse Experience, located at the Glenturret Distillery, will tantalise the taste buds of any Scotch Whisky enthusiast, whilst horse riding at Crieff Hydro will provide adrenalin rushing entertainment.
