WHAT TO DO IN THE AREA

The castle is situated between Perth and Stirling, with a huge range of shopping to choose from. Stirling is well known for the imposing Stirling Castle that sits above the town, as well as the Wallace Monument. Nearby is Auchterarder, with the world famous Gleneagles resort, with its golf courses, horse riding, falconry, shooting school and restaurants. For those who fish, there are plenty of reservoirs, lochs and rivers locally to choose from. Beyond that is the well known Blair Drummond Safari and Adventure Park, which is an ideal destination for family trips. Here you will find lions, bears, chimps and elephants, as well as many other adventure activities. There is excellent hill walking on the Ochill hills or there is the more mountainous range Ben Lawers, one of the highest in Scotland, which is a haven to ramblers. However, both Edinburgh and Glasgow are less than an hour away and this opens up these cities for day trips as well.
