This traditionally decorated Victorian castle wing apartment is located a short distance from Cupar and is surrounded by 120 acres of lawns, woodlands and lochs. Situated in the Kingdom of Fife, on the East coast of Scotland just a short drive from Dundee it provides the perfect country escape.

With a calming atmosphere, this castle apartment is quaintly furbished providing comfortable accommodation in splendid surroundings. The large open plan living space, complete with dining area and fitted kitchen is perfect for relaxing in the evening and the en suite accommodation offers a cosy place to rest. French windows open up onto a secluded private balcony with patio furniture for those warm summer evenings. Guests may also benefit from a communal indoor swimming pool and sauna. Additional accommodation is also available in three other castle apartments within the building and a gate lodge, sleeping a further 17 people.

WHAT TO DO IN THE AREA

The home of the Scottish royals and renowned for championship golf courses including nearby Crieff and St Andrews, the Kingdom of Fife is a beautiful rural retreat. From impressive historic ruins to bustling market towns and scenic coastline, Fife has much to offer. The rugged cliffs are home to some magnificent and varied wildlife providing a haven for ramblers and wildlife enthusiasts. For the more adventurous, the bustling city of Dundee provides cultural divergence and artistic elegance to suit the most discerning tastes. From inspirational art, modern literature and theatre Dundee has something for everyone, whilst nearby Perth offers endless shopping. For history and beautiful medieval architecture St Andrews Cathedral and Aberdour Castle will fascinate. The nearby Deep Sea World and local Deer Centre will provide a magnificent experience for visitors of all ages to remember, whilst horse riding at local Crieff Hydro will provide adrenalin rushing entertainment.

Use of a car is essential to discover the true beauty of the surrounding areas.

For those flying into Scotland, the closest airports to this property are Dundee 18 miles away and Edinburgh 35 miles away and hiring a car or 4WD couldn’t be more convenient if you are choosing to travel by air. There are a variety of well known car rental companies situated within walking distance of the arrivals terminal at Edinburgh and such arrangements for car hire can also be made for arrivals at Dundee.

If you are driving into Scotland from the south, the major arterial motorway into Scotland, the M74, although busy is generally free flowing.

Trains these days can also be an extremely accessible and pleasurable means of transport into Scotland for individuals and groups alike. All the major railway stations have car hire companies located in situ, enabling the transition from carriage to car to be as stress free as possible. The closest station with car hire facilities available on site (or within short taxi/walking distance) would be Ladybank, approximately seven miles from the property.
