Unspoilt and undiscovered, this beautiful country house sits above the river Deveron, and is an ideal place for a family holiday, to cast a line or just to enjoy the peace and quiet.

This delightfully elegant country house, built in 1936, has a wonderful old-fashioned feel, whilst having been refurbished in a stylish manner. On arrival, the long tree-lined drive, takes you down to the house, where the grounds and the river Deveron beyond can then be seen. This secluded site was well chosen as it overlooks a bend in the river and takes in the rolling countryside. There is fishing that can be taken on the one mile of river, which is for both banks, and can be for up to four rods, which is by separate arrangement.

Inside, at ground level, there is large elegant drawing room, where you can retire after a day of fishing, with open fire and large bay windows that overlook the well manicured lawn, or there is a smaller study, which might be better for reflection to consider the one that got away. The dining room and the kitchen have both been upgraded and refurbished. In the hallway, there is an impressive main stair to take you to accommodation level on the floor above. Here there is one master double room with en-suite bathroom, one double room, three twin rooms, three single rooms, with four bathrooms. On the floor above is a simple games room with table tennis table.

WHAT TO DO IN THE AREA

When entering Aberdeenshire, the sign states “From mountain to sea” and that sums up nicely what this glorious region has to offer.
