There are a variety of well known car rental companies within walking distance of the arrivals terminal at Inverness and similar services can be arranged for arrival at Aberdeen.

If you are driving into Scotland from the south, the major arterial motorway into Scotland, the M74, although busy is generally free flowing.

Trains these days can also be an extremely accessible and pleasurable means of transport into Scotland for individuals and groups alike. All the major railway stations have car hire companies located in situ, enabling the transition from carriage to car to be as stress free as possible. The sleeper train can be caught from London to Inverness, but takes approximately twelve hours and car hire can be easily arranged for your arrival, requiring only a short drive for the remainder of your journey.
