Built in the style of a grand traditional Scottish Laird’s country house, this is a modern eco house with the luxury for today’s holiday expectations. Its “Green” credentials include geothermal pipes in the ground to extract heat to provide hot water and under-floor heating, as well as its own private borehole providing pure mineral water. The “luxury” credentials include flatscreen TV’s in each bedroom, a games room, a hot tub and an outdoor courtyard swimming pool.

Accessible via a steep private road of about a mile long, once at the house, the views over Auchterarder and Gleneagles are stunning. On entering, there is the dining room which seats up to 18 people, large drawing room, even larger kitchen with dining area and living space, utility room, games room with snooker table and shower room. The accommodation is all upstairs on two floors and includes a master double bedroom with en-suite bathroom, three double bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms, one double bedroom, two twin bedrooms, one bunk bedroom for four children and two bathrooms. Please note that a caretaker resides in a flat to the rear of the building. Set within its own private grounds - it is ideally placed being an hour from Edinburgh and Glasgow.

WHAT TO DO IN THE AREA
Nearby Auchterarder is the world famous Gleneagles resort, with its famous golf courses, as well as horse riding, falconry, shooting school, restaurants, quad biking, fishing and clay-pigeon shooting which are all also available here or elsewhere. Beyond that is the well known Blair Drummond Safari and Adventure Park, which is an ideal destination for family trips. Here you will find lions, bears, chimps and elephants, as well as many other adventure activities. The house is situated between Perth and Stirling, with Perth being an excellent city to do shopping. Stirling itself, is well known for the imposing Stirling Castle that sits above the town, as well as the Wallace Monument. There is excellent hill walking on the Ochill hills or there is the more mountainous range Ben Lawers, one of the highest in Scotland, which is a haven to ramblers. The breathtaking landscape and calming atmosphere is what this area is known for, but for the more adventurous visitor, mountaineering, climbing and off-road biking also prove popular.

Use of a car is essential to discover the true beauty of the surrounding areas.

For those flying into Scotland, the closest airports to this property are Edinburgh, which is 42 miles away and Glasgow, which is 58 miles away, and hiring a car or 4WD could not be more convenient if you are choosing to travel by air. There are a variety of well known car rental companies situated within walking distance of the arrivals terminal at Glasgow and Edinburgh.

If you are driving into Scotland from the south, the major arterial motorway into Scotland is the A74/M74, which although busy is generally free flowing. This in turn leads onto the M73 and then the M80, north of Glasgow, which leads to Stirling and the M9/A9 beyond. An average journey from north of the Glasgow bypass to this property is likely to take approximately 45 minutes.

The closest station is Gleneagles, which is 4 miles away, but the closest with car hire facilities available on site (or within short taxi/walking distance) would be Perth at 14 miles away or Stirling at 23 miles away. Trains from London terminals to Perth/Stirling take approximately five and a half hours.
