To reach this stunning house – you pass the Robert Burns Centre and then cross the “Brig o’ Doon”. You are officially in “Burns Country” – and what a beautiful place it is.

This impressive north facing Baronial mansion house is surrounded by mixed woodland with the river Doon flowing past. Situated four miles south of Ayr in the South West Scotland this area is famed for the championship golf courses and its association with Robert Burns.

Beautifully presented, retaining traditional charm and style, this large mansion house offers the perfect accommodation for large family gatherings and golfing parties alike. The well equipped kitchen is well suited to preparing evening feasts which can be enjoyed in the grand dining room, capable of seating all the house guests. The magnificent drawing room, complete with open fire, offers the perfect space for evening entertainment and relaxation. Whilst there is also a secondary sitting room, a sun room with grand piano, and a games room with bar and pool table. The accommodation is situated across three floors, offering comfortable accommodation and plenty of bathrooms, with 11 bedrooms and 8 bathrooms. In addition, there is a hot tub available within the grounds by the river, which is charged as extra. The mansion house has a wing to the side, which is occupied by the owners. However, their parking and access is to the rear, whilst the holiday letting access and parking is to the front of the house, with all the grounds available for their use.

WHAT TO DO IN THE AREA
Explore Robert Burns Country and Visitors Centre on the doorstep. Golf at the Open Championship courses, such as Royal Troon or Turnberry or on the good local golf courses. Visit the many castles such as the National Trust for Scotland’s flagship Culzean Castle and Country Park. Stroll along the River Ayr Way, Scotland’s first source to sea walking route passing through picturesque scenery. Fish on Ayrshire’s lochs and rivers.  Cycle on numerous mountain bike trails. Day trip to Glasgow, just 40 miles distant. Children will love Heads of Ayr Farm Park with its animals, playground and quad biking circuit or Loudon Castle Theme Park.

For those flying into Scotland, the closest airports to this property are Glasgow 40 miles away and Prestwick eight miles away and hiring a car or 4WD couldn’t be more convenient if you are choosing to travel by air. There are a variety of well known car rental companies situated within walking distance of the arrivals terminal at Glasgow and such arrangements for car hire can also be made for arrivals at Prestwick.

If you are driving into Scotland from the south, the major arterial motorway into Scotland, the M74, although busy is generally free flowing.

Trains these days can also be an extremely accessible and pleasurable means of transport into Scotland for individuals and groups alike. All the major railway stations have car hire companies located in situ, enabling the transition from carriage to car to be as stress free as possible. The sleeper train can be caught from London to Glasgow, which takes approximately seven and a half hours and car hire can be easily arranged for your arrival, requiring just a short drive for the remainder of the journey, although trains can be caught to Ayr, only four miles from the property.
