Edinburgh Castle sits proudly in the middle, dominating the skyline, and is the focal point for all visitors to the city. The old town is a maze of ancient streets, stretching from the castle down to the Palace of Holyroodhouse. This traditional and historic architecture is juxtaposed against the city’s modern and dynamic centre. The city is possibly best known for its range of internationally renowned music and arts festivals, which include the Edinburgh International Festival, The Military Tattoo, and the Fringe Festival, to name a few.
Edinburgh is also home to the National Museum of Scotland, and the National Gallery of Scotland. Kids will enjoys the offerings of the fantastic Edinburgh Zoo, home to the famous pair of Giant Panda’s, the only two in the UK!
