The self-catering properties featured in this brochure are offered for let on a weekly basis, generally Saturday to Saturday or Sunday to Sunday (from 4pm on the date of arrival to 10am on the date of departure) unless otherwise stated.

Pricing
All quotes are based on the standard rate supplied to us by the owners. We do not add commission on top of the advertised price. Prices quoted are based on the standard weekly self catering rate. Some properties will offer additional services and/or accept bookings outside of the standard start dates, however, additional charges may apply.

Booking your holiday
By telephone: Call us to check availability. You can make a provisional telephone reservation, after which you must return the booking form with the appropriate payment within five days.

Online: Check our website availability calendar. If the property is available, print out our booking form and mail it to us with the appropriate payment details. Depending on availability, we will send you written confirmation with your booking details and total holiday cost.

Paying for your holiday
A minimum deposit of 30 per cent of the total hiring charge is required to officially book your holiday. We accept debit card, credit card, cheque, and inter-bank transfer. A 3.5% surcharge applies to credit card payments to recover costs.

It is a requirement of the booking that Holiday Cancellation Insurance is taken out, either through our nominated Insurer, JL Morris, or through an insurer of your choice. No booking will be accepted unless proof of holiday cancellation cover is provided.

The Agency must receive a deposit and booking form no less than eight weeks prior to the commencement of the let. If you book less than eight weeks before the arrival date, full payment is due immediately.

Good Housekeeping
When renting one of our properties, credit card details (from a major credit card company) will be required at the time of booking to act as security, for the Good Housekeeping Deposit. It will need to be in the name of the person stated on the booking form. We are unable to accept Electron or Debit Cards for this particular security bond. You will be responsible for reimbursing the Owner (via the Agency) for the actual costs of any breakages or damage in, or to, the property - along with any additional costs that may result following your tenancy (ie extra cleaning).

Upon receipt of an invoice from the owner/housekeeper of the property for reimbursement of any damage, loss or extra cleaning required (as detailed above) following your stay at the property, monies will be deducted from the credit card details (provided for this purpose) immediately and without further notice to yourself.

Should a dispute arise regarding the loss or damage of property, or excess cleaning required following your stay, our policy is that the housekeepers word is final. Please read our separate Good Housekeeping Deposit Terms & Conditions.

Insurance
The Agency accepts bookings only on the condition that the client has suitable cancellation insurance and if requested provides proof of it.

Cancellations
Once a booking has been confirmed, you will be liable for the whole cost of the holiday. Please note that some insurance carriers place stipulations on their cancellations policy. Check your policy to ensure that you are covered.

If you have to cancel and the reason is outside the terms of your insurance, we will try to re-let the property at a reasonable rental. If we are successful, we will refund you the amount achieved less an administration charge of £50 + VAT.

Equipment
Each property is furnished and equipped for the stated occupancy. A list of fixtures, furnishings and domestic equipment is available on request. In certain areas mobile and/or TV reception may be poor. Cots and highchairs are provided by some properties (but not linen for them), please check with the office.

Pets
Where you see the dog symbol, pets are welcome by arrangement. Details must be supplied on the booking form. Please note that some properties will charge an additional fee, or stipulate terms. Normally one pet is allowed per property, although you may request to include more. Ask our office for the Terms and Conditions for Pets policy.

Linen
All properties are supplied with linen, pillows, towels, and duvets at no extra charge.

Fuel
Most properties have log fires and will supply a basket of firewood upon arrival. Thereafter visitors are expected to refill their baskets from the woodshed, although some properties may charge for additional firewood. Ask our office for details.

Electricity
Most properties do not charge extra for electricity, but a few do. If you are unsure about the property that attracts you, please call our office.

Cleaning
All properties are cleaned between each let and it is a condition of your let that you leave the property and its contents clean and tidy. Failure to do so will automatically result in part or all of the Good Housekeeping deposit being deducted from the credit card details supplied at the booking stage. Refer to our Terms & Conditions of the Good Housekeeping Deposit.

Short Breaks
We find that more and more people/groups are looking for a quick getaway to hold a party, special event, or just to take a break from work for a few days. As such we try to encourage our owners to accept short breaks in the off season where possible. As each property has slightly different conditions for short lets please telephone the office for pricing and availability.

Complaints
Every effort has been made to ensure that you have an enjoyable and memorable holiday. If, however, you have any complaints we are anxious to remedy them as soon as possible. If you have immediate complaints (e.g. heating, water) you should contact the property representative specified on your confirmation. If you are unhappy with the response, please contact the office, as Scotts Castle Holidays has procedures in place to assist you.
